Arturo Hernández
Arturo Hernández Sánchez was born in Mexico City in 1988 and 12 years later he had his first camera: a disposable Kodak in 35mm format. From there he began his taste for photography, a hobby that became his profession.
He went from being a student of the Bachelor of Communication Sciences to a photography professor at the Autonomous University of Chapingo, until in 2012 he left the capital of the country and migrated to Toluca in the State of Mexico, where he currently resides.
Since then he has collaborated with state media such as El Heraldo Estado de México, the MVT News Agency and El Diario Impulso Estado de México; It also has national coverage published in the newspaper La Jornada and the Imago7 Sports Photography Agency. At an international level, he collaborated with the DEMOTIX Agency (now CORBIS) , currently in the Latinphoto Photo Agency , Eyepix Group and NurPhoto Agency; where his photographs have been published in newspapers such as: The New York Times, CNN, RT, The Wall Street Journal, Daily Mail among others.
For his work he has received awards such as the Presea «Manuel Buendía Tellezgirón 2016» in the category of Photography, awarded by the Association of Journalists of the Valley of Toluca (APVT); likewise, it won first place in the state contest «La Infraestructura en una Mirada 2017».
For the series «The tunnel where Chapo Guzmán escaped» he received the 2018 Mexico Prize for Journalism «Ricardo Flores Magón» organized by the Federation of Associations of Mexican Journalists (FAPERMEX), and with the series «Velocity» he was selected in the Contest National Journalism and Documentary Photography 2018, organized by the magazine Cuartoscuro.

Arturo Hernández Sánchez nació en la Ciudad de México en 1988 y 12 años después tuvo su primera cámara: una desechable Kodak en formato 35mm. A partir de ahí inició su gusto por la fotografía, pasatiempo que se convirtió en su profesión.
Pasó de ser estudiante de la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación a profesor de fotografía en la Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo, hasta que en 2012 dejó la capital del país y migró a Toluca en el Estado de México, donde reside actualmente.
Desde entonces ha colaborado con medios de comunicación estatales como El Heraldo Estado de México, la Agencia de Noticias MVT y El Diario Impulso Estado de México; también cuenta con coberturas nacionales publicadas en el diario La Jornada y La Agencia de Fotografía Deportiva Imago7. A nivel internacional colaboró en la Agencia DEMOTIX (ahora CORBIS) , actualmente en la Agencia fotográfica Latinphoto , Eyepixgroup y la agencia Italiana de Fotoperiodismo. NurPhoto ; donde sus fotografías han sido publicadas en diarios como: The New York Times, CNN, RT, The Wall Street Journal, Daily Mail entre otros.
Por su trabajo ha recibido reconocimientos como la Presea “Manuel Buendía Tellezgirón 2016” en la categoría de Fotografía, otorgada por la Asociación de Periodistas del Valle de Toluca (APVT); de igual forma ganó el primer lugar en el concurso estatal “La Infraestructura en una Mirada 2017”.
Por la serie “El túnel por donde escapó el Chapo Guzmán” recibió el Premio México de Periodismo 2018 “Ricardo Flores Magón“ organizado por la Federación de Asociaciones de Periodistas Mexicanos (FAPERMEX), y con la serie “Velocidad” fue seleccionado en el Concurso Nacional de Fotografía Periodística y Documental 2018, organizado por la revista Cuartoscuro.
